  • Purpose

    Players practice their inside shooting and footwork.

  • Drill Setup

    A player stands under the basket.

  • How It Works

    1. The player takes one step to the left and shoots a layup with the left hand going off the right foot.
    2. He catches the ball before it bounces takes one step and shoots a layup with his right hand and going off his left foot.
    3. Drill continues in this pattern with the player catching the ball, taking one step and shooting from alternate sides of the basket until coach says, “stop.”

    Players should be catching the ball before it bounces.

    They take one step and go up – shooting a layup or hook shot.

    Shots should be off the glass.

    Player should be moving as fast as possible and using good footwork
