• 2 Ball Stationary Dribbling Drill

  • Purpose

Players learn to handle the ball better.

  • Drill Setup

Players set up in the halfcourt with plenty of spacing between them. Each player has a ball. Coach stands at midcourt.

  • How It Works

    • Players stand in one spot and dribble two basketballs.
    • Phase 1: Players dribble two balls, bouncing them at the same time.
    • Phase 2: Players dribble two balls so that they bounce alternately off the court.
    • Phase 3: Players switch balls from one hand to the other while dribbling.

Players practice dribbling two balls at once.

  • Coaching Tips

When dribbling, balls should be kept at waist level and below. The dribbler should power the ball down and keep his head up at all times.

When doing phase three and switching balls, players can bring the balls together and do a phase 1 dribble to get themselves settled again if they start to lose control.
