• 2 Line Passing Drill

  • Purpose

Players practice passing while on the move.

  • Drill Setup

Players form two broken lines with players at halfcourt and on the baseline.

  • How It Works

    1. The coach blows the whistle and the two players who are across from each other at halfcourt start sliding toward the baseline while passing the ball back and forth as they go.
    2. At the baseline they slide and pass back to midcourt with a new pair from the baseline following them.
    3. When the pair from the baseline reach halfcourt they are followed back to the baseline by a new pair from halfcourt.
    4. Drill continues in this pattern until the coach blows his whistle to end it.

Players pass the ball back and forth as they move up and down the court.

  • Coaching Tips

The coach can change this drill up by changing the type of pass being thrown between the players and by having the players run instead of slide.

Players should be concentrating on making good chest high passes as they move up and down the court.
